Restaurant Les Eleveurs

A piece of history, seeped in flavours. Since 1897 Les Éleveurs has been one of the great Flemish Brabant institutions. On this spot they once sold the robust horses that are so characteristic of the region. The establishment is now experiencing its fourth life and it’s Andy De Brouwer and Sofie Dumont who run the restaurant. There is a perfect symbiosis between the former, sommelier and floor manager, and the latter, who is in the kitchen, as they write their own special story of taste and passion, a traditional tale laced with phrases from contemporary cuisine.
In the kitchen Sofie soars, creating an extremely refined menu that rightly won her "Lady Chef of the Year 2009", attributed by Food from Britain, an association which knocks itself out making sure women chefs are in the spotlight. Les Éleveurs is a place that has never lost touch with family values and their love of human contact is at the heart of all that they do. It rings with the sound of Andy extolling the virtues of his wines or Sofie regaling us with the details of her produce. And that’s music to our ears!
