It’s always uplifting to meet a happy man. And that was our first impression of John, a notion that is confirmed with every meeting. We met him when he was at the tillers of Brussels’ finer establishments, now we find him in charge of his own vessel, by the banks of la Meuse, in Profondeville, a beautiful gem of a region, a few oar’s strokes from Namur. And for us when a chef is content, it’s the gourmet customer who reaps the benefits. Subtly aided on the floor by his charming wife Nerdjivane, John offers cuisine that is full of pleasure, cooking based on the reliable standards of French cuisine at its joyful best. In this bucolic setting by the water, nothing is left to chance in satisfying the guests: a luminous veranda, terrace and garden, a Havana bar and even a docking pontoon for small craft. Like we said, everything you’ll need for satisfying visit.
